In the island of Vanuatu, a group of people there worship John Frum. The religion, although with variations in origin, got its popularity post World War II on the Island. During World War II, a huge number of American Soldiers were stationed at Vanuatu. In 1959, David Attenborough, an extremely famous broadcaster and author, interviewed the people of Vanuatu about their God John Frum. They responded by saying “ ‘E look like you, ‘E got white face, ‘E tall man. ‘E come from South America and bring plenty cargo. An’ every man, ‘e gets everything ‘e wants.” Every year on February 15, the Tanna Army (made by the followers of John Frum) does a parade on that day because the followers believe John Frum would return on a February 15. It is popularly believed that the followers of John Frum have been waiting for the next cargo since 1940, till date.

Moral saints are individuals whose lives are predominantly guided by the pursuit of moral goodness and the welfare of others, often accepting significant personal sacrifice in order to maximise what they believe to be morally right. This ideal is commonly associated with ethical traditions that emphasise strong duties to others or the maximisation of overall good, such as utilitarianism and certain forms of deontological ethics.

Ethical (or moral) egoism is the view that individuals are morally justified in prioritising their own long-term interests, flourishing, and well-being above the interests of others, so long as they do not violate minimal moral constraints. This perspective is often linked to philosophical traditions that emphasise self-realisation, rational self-interest, or individual flourishing.

Infoslide 2: For over 500 years, the Yaegerists, an ancient clan within Eldia, ruled other Eldians through a violently supremacist regime. Believing themselves to be a divinely blessed superior bloodline, they considered other Eldians “impure”. Their rule involved systematic dispossession and segregation, the killing of hundreds of thousands of Eldians, including children, and forced reproduction with Eldian women to expand the Yaegerist bloodline. The regime was eventually overthrown through an organized Eldian revolution, followed by retaliatory violence that killed most Yaegerists. The majority of surviving Yaegerists today are children who had no involvement in the former regime.

Following the revolution, the Eldian state mandated the social and economic exclusion of Yaegerists and publicly portrayed them as inherently violent and dangerous. Surviving Yaegerist children are routinely denied employment and social relationships, pushed into poverty and menial work, and subjected to public humiliation, physical abuse and social isolation. This treatment is widely justified as necessary “atonement for the sins of their ancestors”. Despite this persecution, Yaegerist identity continues to exist through shared ancestry, family and community ties, and cultural traditions.

For over a century, the people of Paradis Island have lived isolated from the outside world. They are Eldians, whose ancestors once used the power of Titans to dominate other nations; although present-day Paradisians bear no responsibility for these crimes, much of the outside world continues to fear them. Paradis is significantly behind other nations in population, technology and conventional military power and faces the threat of invasion. However, its Walls contain hundreds of thousands of Colossal Titans that can be controlled through the Founding Titan. One proposed strategy is the partial rumbling which will release only enough Titans to destroy threatening military forces and demonstrate Paradis' ability to retaliate, deterring invasion while the island modernises and pursues relations with the outside world. Maintaining this deterrent for several decades would require members of the royal family and their descendants to continue inheriting Titans and producing heirs, with no guarantee that hostility towards Paradis will disappear.

Eren Yeager, a young Paradisian soldier who possesses the Founding Titan, is intensely motivated by personal freedom and protecting his friends after growing up amidst repeated Titan attacks. He strongly opposes sacrificing the royal family and future generations to maintain Paradis' deterrent against external oppression. However, after travelling outside Paradis, Eren sees the outside world also contains ordinary civilians including Eldians who  face persecution and that not everyone personally seeks Paradis' destruction. Eren can either pursue a partial Rumbling, accepting the risk that this may ultimately fail, or initiate the full Rumbling, destroying all human civilisation outside Paradis including hostile forces and innocent civilians to remove the external threat to the island.

Historia Reiss is the last surviving heir of the true royal family within the Walls. For generations, her family secretly possessed the Founding Titan, a power capable of controlling Titans and altering the memories of Eldians. However, royal family members who inherited it became bound by the ideology of the First King, compelling them to accept humanity's eventual destruction rather than fully use its power against the Titans. Years earlier, Grisha Yeager, Eren's father, killed most of Historia's family, stole the Founding Titan and later passed it to Eren. Historia's father now asks her to become a Titan, consume Eren and return the Founder to its royal bloodline. This could restore her family's immense power, but risks Historia becoming controlled by the same ideology as her predecessors.

Eren Yeager is Historia's friend and fellow soldier in the Survey Corps. The two share an understanding of being burdened by identities and expectations imposed upon them by their families, and Eren has encouraged Historia to live for herself rather than perform the role others demand of her. Eren has repeatedly risked his life fighting Titans and protecting humanity, and because he lacks royal blood, he is not bound by the First King's ideology. However, he is young, emotionally driven and has limited understanding and control of the Founder's immense powers.

Plea bargaining is a process in criminal justice where the accused and the prosecutor negotiate a deal to resolve the case without going to trial. Criminal jury trials in many jurisdictions require unanimous verdicts. If the jury cannot reach unanimity, the court may declare a mistrial and prosecutors may subsequently seek a retrial. In the 2026 trial of Lindsay Clancy, who admitted killing her three children but argued that postpartum psychosis rendered her not criminally responsible, the jury reportedly split 11–1 in favour of finding her not criminally responsible. Several jurors alleged that the sole holdout acknowledged having reasonable doubt but nevertheless refused to vote for acquittal. After seven days of deliberations, the judge declared a mistrial. Radha, Rukmini and Krishna are all characters from Hindu mythology. Krishna was an avatar of Lord Vishnu. Radha was a girl who lived in the same village as Krishna and they grew up together. Krishna eventually had left the village to fulfill his other duties (as Lord Vishnu’s Avatar). Rukmini is the first wife of Krishna, who was also the princess of Vidarbha kingdom. Krishna protects Rukmini from being married forcefully to a violent king. Rukmini had always been deeply in love with Krishna and was very devoted to him. When she expresses her love and devotion, Krishna is moved by her emotions and decides that Rukmini is the one for him.

Ritaja is an underdog actress who has built her career over the past four years through small but strong and impactful roles in non-mainstream films and OTT series. Although these projects pay less, they offer greater character and story depth, allowing her to develop her craft and find greater fulfilment in acting.
